Email Exchanges between Indian National Congress and Myself – Part 2

Dear Anup,
Media reports have indicated that Shri Narendra Modi is spending Rs 5,000 crore to advertise his Prime Ministerial ambitions. The total expenditure in the campaign is estimated at Rs 10,000 crore.
This is more what US President Barack Obama spent in his Election campaign.
Have you ever wondered where all this money is coming from?
Everyone knows how the Adani’s empire has grown under Mr Modi’s benevolence.
He claims that he would banish corruption from India but he needs to answer these three simple questions before any Indian can even believe a single word of his sermons.
 1. Why was land given to Adanis at the rate of Rs. 2.5 to 25 per sq. m. when market rate is 1000 to 1500 per sq. m.?
2. Why did he agree to pay 63 paise per unit more than market rate for power to the Adanis, leading to a loss of Rs 23,625 crore to Gujarat.?
3. Why did he give 9,558 acres of land in and around Kutch, without competitive bidding, at less than Rs. 1.29 lakh per acre, to the Adanis. The Adanis resold it to the Indian Oil Corporation at Rs. 29 lakh per acre?
We would be grateful if you could please ask these three simple questions to your nearest Modi supporter. Please let us know if they have any answers.

My Reply:

To start with, I am not a supporter of any party. But I only want to see our country, India to progress.

Realistically speaking no political person is clean in our country. And sometimes it makes me wonder, whether democracy is something we should strive for. Anyways lets keep that for another discussion.

There are two types of marketing, positive and negative. Positive marketing is where you keep telling about all the good things that your product does, the benefits of using your product and etc etc. Negative marketing is where you do not say anything about your product but keeps talking about the limitation and problems with your competitor. And this is exactly what what you are doing.

Lets talk what have you achieved.

  1. Food Security Bill and some JawaharLal Nehru Rural Bill (sorry I do not remember the exact name)
    • These bills are the worst of its kind. This may make people to vote for you but this works against country. Due to these bills, there is shortage of labor force in India. Companies are struggling to find unskilled workers. Food security bill gives them almost free food while the other bill gives them money for absolutely doing nothing. Explain me, how will a country progress. History has proved many times that giving things free just proves against the development. But anyways, you do not care about the country as long as your deep pockets are filled.
  2. You talk about secularism.
    • India is the only country in the world that gives subsidiary for Haj pilgrimage. If you are really secular, then please provide subsidiary for Vatican visits. Also provide subsidiary for people who goes to “Char Dham”. Personally, I do not care which religion gets what subsidiary but Indians are religious. This strategy is creating conflicts between people. This is divisive politics.
  3. Lets talk about Robert Vadra.
    • How can a person make so much money in so less time? He might be smart and intelligent and knows how to make money. I request Mr. Vadra to let India know, how to quickly make money. Our country will be super rich very soon and there won’t be any problems left in the country. Please ask him.
    • And why does he get special benefits in all Indian airports? He is not a public servant but still India keeps showering special benefits on him. Why he is not allowed for security check and all the other formalities? I have a picture of the notice that was displayed in Mumbai airport, I can send it to you.

Now lets answer some of your questions.

If Modi is giving some subsidiary to an industrialist, it is better for India. How? Industrialist build up industries which in turn generates employment and helps build the economy and raise paying capability of very individual. On the contrary, you guys just cheat and loot and put up your money in Swiss banks or other tax havens. Your government couldn’t even increase the road infrastructure in the last 10 years, forget about setting industries and creating employment.

Finally lets analyze and you will get your answer, choose Modi, who in turn will give benefits to big Industrialist which will setup industries and create employment and boost our economy or choose Gandhi, who will give benefits to Vadra and Varda does nothing.

Source
Source
Source
Source
Source
Source
Source

My Reply…..

Good email but too little too late.
Some arguments from my end:
  1. RTI was never your pet project. It was because of the members of civil society, you were forced to pass that law.
  2. Lokpal, you should be ashamed of yourself to tell that Congress passed the bill. We all know what happened to Shri Anna Hazare and co. while they forced you to pass it.
  3. Ajit Pawar is still your partner even after irrigation scam.
  4. Lalu is still your partner after he was indicted with scam.
  5. Ashok Chavan still have a ticket for Lok Sabha election.
  6. You still have candidates that are disgrace to India. One of your candidate even said that inflation is because poor people have started eating more.
  7. People like Digvijay Singh and Kapil Sibal makes me realize that a rickshaw puller is better as a minister. At most, the rickshaw puller will not say and do anything.
  8. The best is Rahul Gandhi. I have no words to describe his talents (sarcasm).

I hope to never see you in power in my life time.

Got very excited after watching some interviews of Raj Thackeray on youtube. Went to and wrote this letter to him. It doesn’t matter if this note reaches him or not….!!!!!

To Mr. Raj Thackeray,

My name is Anup and I am currently residing in USA. I am an avid follower of you and your ideologies. I believe you have the spark required for the necessary change in Maharashtra politics. I follow all your videos and interviews on YouTube and I am always mesmerized at the end of it.

It seems you have a thorough understanding of the problems faced by common man. You always do your study and have your statistics ready before talking on any subject and that is what the young generation likes about you. Though at times the actions are not very appreciated but I understand as there is no better way.

Though I am still young but have enough knowledge about the Maharashtra politics. I, myself want to enter politics to do something for the people, for my state and for my country. I am making enough money to feed myself and don’t want to earn from politics. But as you know, it is very difficult for a common man to enter politics and that is why we all (the public) relies on political families to instigate the required spark for the necessary change in the society.

I know we face lot of problems and a politically illiterate person like me can think of a solution, but wonder why all these politicians cannot come up with a good solution. I am from basically from Marathwada and have witnessed the growth of the empire of the political families.

I look on you for the betterment of Maharashtra and will like to help you to do it. I wish you all the best and hope that Maharashtra provides you with the complete power which can help you to solve the problems faced by common man. We all have lot of expectations from you and hope you and your party doesn’t disappoint Maharashtra like the other political parties.

Thank you very much for being there. The young generation is supporting you.

Jai Maharashtra..!!!!

Reblog this post [with Zemanta]

I stumbled upon this story…

As the dream of most parents I had acquired a degree in Software Engineering and joined a company based in USA , the land of braves and opportunity. When I arrived in the USA , it was as if a dream had come true.

Here at last I was in the place where I want to be. I decided I would be staying in this country for about Five years in which time I would have earned enough money to settle down in India . My father was a Government employee and after his retirement, the only asset he could acquire was a decent one bedroom flat.

I wanted to do some thing more than him. I started feeling homesick and lonely as the time passed. I used to call home and speak to my parents every week using cheap international phone cards. Two years passed, two years of Burgers at McDonald’s and pizzas and discos and 2 years watching the foreign exchange rate getting happy whenever the Rupee value went down.

Finally I decided to get married. Told my parents that I have only 10 days of holidays and everything must be done within these 10 days. I got my ticket booked in the cheapest flight. Was jubilant and was actually enjoying hopping for gifts for all my friends back home. If I miss anyone then there will be talks. After reaching home I spent one week going through all the photographs of girls and as the time was getting shorter I was forced to select one candidate.

The in-laws told me, to my surprise, that I would have to get married in 2-3 days, as I will not get anymore holidays. After the marriage, it was time to return to USA , after giving some money to my parents and telling the neighbors to look after them, we returned to USA .

My wife enjoyed this country for about two months and then she started feeling lonely. The frequency of calling India increased to twice in a week sometimes 3 times a week. Our savings started diminishing. After two more years we started to have kids. Two lovely kids, a boy and a girl, were gifted to us by the almighty. Every time I spoke to my parents, they asked me to come to India so that they can see their grand children.

Every year I decided to go to India … But work and monetary conditions prevented it. Years went by and visiting India was a distant dream. Then suddenly one day I got a message that my parents were seriously sick. I tried but I couldn’t get any holidays and thus could not go to India… The next message I got was my parents had passed away and as there was no one to do the last rites, the society members had done whatever they could. I was depressed. My parents passed away without seeing their son and grand children.

After couple more years passed away, much to my children’s dislike and my wife’s joy, we returned to India to settle down. I started to look for a suitable property, but to my dismay my savings were short and the property prices had gone up during all these years. I had to return to the US…

My wife refused to come back with me and my children refused to  stay in India …. My 2 children and I returned to USA , after promising my wife I would be back for good after two years.

Time passed by, my daughter decided to get married to an American and my son was happy living in USA … I decided that I had enough and wound up every thing and returned to India … I had just enough money to buy a decent 02 bedroom flat in a well-developed locality.

….Now I am 60 years old and the only time I go out of the flat is for the routine visit to the nearby temple. My faithful wife has also left me and gone to the holy abode.

Sometimes I wonder, was it worth all this? My father, even after staying in India, had a house to his name and I too have  the same, nothing more. I lost my parents and children for just ONE EXTRA BEDROOM.

Looking out from the window I see a lot of children dancing. This damn cable TV has spoiled our new generation and these children are losing their values and culture because of it. I get occasional cards from my children asking if I am alright. Well, at least they remember me.

Now perhaps after I die it will be the neighbors who will be performing my last rites too, God Bless them. But the question still remains, was all this worth it?’

I am still searching for an answer…… ……… ..!!!

What’s next…..????

Everyone must have read about the recent Mumbai attack’s about how some terrorists hostaged the entire nation. I was restless during those 60 hours when the Indian forces were trying to rescue the city from the terrorists. I have been reading various articles about the heinous crime against humanity and how the nation responded to it.  The nation is trying to bring all the people (internal as well as external) to justice. I am going to talk about the measures that the government is taking against the internal people directly or indirectly related to this attacks. People like leaders, politicians, military, police force, civilians helping terrorists etc.

After the Mumbai carnage, various ministers and leaders in the state as well as central government were dethrone.  The parties starting blaming each other and the media started complaining about everyone.  The common man was agitated and wanted to have a change in this system and he believes that a change can be made by changing leaders. There were many marches against the government and the government was forced to act just to pacify the nation. This act might be helping but this is not the long term solution of the problem. Just changing the leaders will not help us to fight against any adversary we are facing.

My understanding of a politician is that he represents the society from which he is being elected. If the ward/city/district/state is good, the leader is bound to be good but if it is bad the leader is always bad. In a democracy, people select their representative to represent them. So if the people are corrupted, the leader they choose cannot be a saint. So just changing a leader cannot help but changing the society will definitely help. If the society is full with good people, the leader is going to be good and he is going to work for the betterment of the society.

Now you must be asking, how do we change the society? Well, changing the society is not a fast process., it takes generations after generations to make a perfect society. To change the society, every person from the society has to change. Every person should understand its responsibility and duty. Every person has to differentiate between good and bad.  Sadly, we cannot change everyone but we can change a good percentage of the population of the society.

Now how do we start it? The first and foremost important thing to do is to “VOTE”….. Believe me, this is the most powerful tool you have in your hand. Most of the parties win the elections just because of the illiterate, uneducated and poor because these people are easily manipulated and most of the educated class sit at home watching the updates of the elections and blaming the government and everyone involved in the system. First thing to do is to encourage the educated  class to vote so that no party can feel that, just manipulating the poor can help them win the elections. Once the educated class start following this, 50% of the problems are solved.

Secondly, everyone irrespective of sex, caste, religion and education should try to be ethical in life. Everyone should try to follow basic ethics like honesty, dignity, truthfulness, sacredness etc in life. For e.g. everyone can pledge not to bribe others or get bribed by others. If everyone follows these ethics, we can definitely create a better society for tomorrow.

In Hindu mythology, “MAHABHARAT” (epic war) was fought between “DHARMA” (good) and “ADHARMA”(bad) and “KRISHNA”(the LORD) was with “DHARMA”. So “DHARMA” won the war which led to a good society with good people. Believe me, there is again going to be a war between “DHARMA” and “ADHARMA” and again “DHARMA” is going to win. So now it’s your choice, whether you want to be with “DHARMA” or “ADHARMA”…….
